The Peacock at Rowsley Takes a Proud Stride into The Sunday Times Top Places to Stay for 2024

We are thrilled to announce that The Peacock at Rowsley has been featured in The Sunday Times Top Places to Stay for 2024, taking the fourth spot in the Best Countryside Hotels category. This prestigious recognition is testament to our unwavering commitment to providing unparalleled hospitality and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Located in the heart of the picturesque Peak District, the building dates back to 1652, when it was a dower house for Haddon Hall. It became a hotel in the 1820s and for the last two centuries we have been committed to providing exceptional service for our guests, blending the rich tapestry of history with modern comforts.

Guests who stay at The Peacock have the opportunity to dine in our award-winning 3 AA rosette restaurant, led by Head Chef Dan Smith. Showcasing the finest local ingredients and flavours, with the numerous dining options available, from our fine dining tasting menu to our a la carte menu and informal bar menu, there’s a menu for every occasion.

We are blessed by our magnificent natural surroundings, which offer guests the opportunity to enjoy a walk or bike ride from our hotel doors. Alternatively, guests can enjoy some of the best dry fly fishing in the country, with The Peacock the hub for the Haddon Estate fisheries. If guests are new to fishing, the hotel has a number of experienced guides who can take you out on the river.
