Rob Hattersley’s journey into hospitality has been one marked by resilience, vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. A former chef, Rob’s career path took a defining turn when he decided to pursue his dream of creating a collection of boutique venues in the Peak District.

Rob is deeply passionate about both the business and people side of hospitality. He believes in “people over profits” and nurturing a strong and loyal team. His leadership style centres around respect for his employees, guests, and the local community. He sees Longbow Venues as not just a business but a means of making a positive impact on the area, helping preserve its history while also creating lasting, memorable experiences for visitors.

Stephen Atkinson

Operations Director, Longbow Venues

Raised in the heart of the Peak District, Stephen got his first taste of hospitality helping out at his family’s pub in Youlgreave. Although he initially pursued a career as a mechanic, it wasn’t long before the energy of hospitality drew him back. His natural leadership, work ethic and commitment to quality saw him quickly rise through the ranks.

Since joining Longbow in 2020, Stephen has played a key role in shaping operations and culture across the group and now leads as Operations Director. His role is critical in maintaining the highest standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction. Stephen plays a hands-on role in ensuring each venue runs smoothly, profitably, and with a consistent ethos – not just in terms of service, but also in how teams are supported and developed.

Josh began his hospitality journey as a teenager and has been with Longbow since 2020, bringing drive, warmth and a quiet confidence to every role he’s held. From his early days at The Maynard to management roles across the group, Josh has consistently impressed with his commitment to service, team development, and a genuine passion for making guests feel welcome.

Now leading the team at The Peacock at Rowsley, he combines a sharp eye for detail with a relaxed, people-first leadership style. Josh believes that the best hospitality feels effortless – a philosophy he brings to life through calm service, high standards and a focus on building a supportive, motivated team.
