The Art of Afternoon Tea – By Our 3 AA Rosette Team
Your Afternoon Tea Experience at The Peacock at Rowsley starts long before you relax in our lounge or picturesque gardens, ready to enjoy the experience.
48 hours notice is required for Afternoon Tea Experience bookings to allow for the intricate and in-depth preparation that goes into each refined and delightful experience.
Our 3 AA Rosette chef team, led by Dan Smith, make our jams and chutneys using produce grown on the Haddon Estate. Our renowned ‘sausage’ rolls are made with venison from deer reared on the estate. Our smoked salmon is carefully smoked in-house, and all our delicate and delightful pastries and cakes are made from scratch by our team in our kitchen. Even our bread and butter is freshly baked and made right here at The Peacock at Rowsley.
It’s not just cooking at The Peacock at Rowsley, it is a dedication and unrivalled passion for culinary craftmanship that ensures a refined dining experience, where every item is thoughtfully prepared.
Afternoon Tea – What to Expect
Our seasonal menus change to reflect what is grown locally throughout the year.
We work closely with local suppliers such as Coates Butchers in Darley Dale, who supply us with the finest locally reared meat from farms they liaise directly with. Our local ham is sourced from Coates, and the fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables come from local Peak District farms, too.
We serve our Afternoon Tea menu in the lounge area or outside in the beautiful gardens, weather permitting. The ambience is one of refined yet cosy luxury with impeccable and exceptional service from our dedicated staff who are passionate about making this a truly special event.

Our team work hard to retain and refine each item in our Afternoon Tea experience, ensuring we bake gluten-free bread, cakes and treats to offer a more inclusive dining experience.
