Served daily from 7:30am to 10am, breakfast at The Peacock is a relaxed, unhurried affair. No reservations required. Simply arrive, settle in and let the day start at your own pace.
Whether you’re a guest staying overnight or passing through Rowsley before a day out exploring Derbyshire, you’re very welcome to pull up a chair.
Our Breakfast Menu
There’s something here whatever kind of morning you’re having. All our dishes are gluten-free, or gluten-free available.
- Full English Breakfast: Sausage, bacon, mushroom, tomato, black pudding and your choice of eggs. Classic, properly done.
- Vegetarian Breakfast: Smashed avocado, poached eggs, tomato and toast. Fresh, filling and holds its own.
- The Peacock Muffin: A toasted muffin with a sausage patty, tomato chutney, cheese and a fried egg. One of those dishes that just works.
- Toasted Muffin & Hollandaise: Poached eggs with your choice of smoked salmon, ham or wilted greens, finished with hollandaise. Elegant without being fussy.
- Smoked Salmon Croissant: Cream cheese and scrambled eggs. Light, indulgent and just right when you want something a little different.
- Your choice of Eggs on Toast. Simple and well-executed, exactly right when that’s what you’re after.
- Seasonal Berries: Yoghurt and granola. Bright and fresh, a genuinely good way to start the morning.
- Porridge: Banana, walnut and local honey. A warming, wholesome bowl that sets you up for whatever the day has in store.
- Warm Croissants or Toast & Preserves: Available on request, and the perfect companion to a good coffee.

Rowsley sits right at the gateway to the Derbyshire Dales, which makes The Peacock a natural stopping point before a day out. Chatsworth House is just down the road, the Monsal Trail is within easy reach and some of the best walking in the Peak District starts from our door.
We’ve put together a collection of our favourite circular walking routes that start and end close to The Peacock. Proper Derbyshire countryside walks, mostly off-road and chosen because they’re worth doing. A good breakfast before any of them makes a real difference.

You don’t need to be staying with us to enjoy a breakfast at The Peacock at Rowsley. We welcome walk-ins daily from 7:30am, if you wish to dine at a specific time, please book but reservations not necessary. We’d love to see you.
