This month we are doing our best to combat the January blues by running a very special competition. The lucky winner will be welcomed to The Peacock at Rowsley for a one night stay for two in The Peacock suite, including:

• a guided tour of Haddon Hall and gardens
• and two bottles of wine from The Peacock cellar

The two bottles of wine, selected by Lord Edward Manors, are two of the best bottles offered at The Peacock – a Chateau d’Angludet 2004 (a classic Margaux from the Sichel family) and a Chassagne Montrachet Les Mazures 2012 (a very fine white burgundy described as a “textbook Chassagne” by World of Fine Wine). The tour of Haddon Hall is also an exclusive. The winners being met at the hall (currently closed to the public for the winter season) by one of our guides for a personal tour round this fascinating and beautiful old fortified manor house, described by Simon Jenkins as the “the most perfect house to survive from the Middle Ages”.
