creative gifts, tasty treats and their unbeatable, celebratory atmospheres, Christmas markets are the
perfect place to eat, drink and ignite the festive spirit. Here in the Peak District, we are lucky
enough to be spoilt for choice when it comes to Christmas events, with most towns and attractions
pulling out all the stops, drawing merry crowds from near and far. We’ve picked out a few
Christmas markets that we’re particularly excited out, all a stone’s throw from The Peacock
at Rowsley:

Haddon Hall: Winter Artisan Market

Find unique Christmas gifts for your friends and loved ones at Haddon Hall‘s biggest artisan market to date. Over 100 local
florists, artists, gourmet artisans and craftspeople will line the halls of the magical, medieval manor
house, with a jazz singer performing on the Saturday and Sunday. Entry to the market is £5 and can
be purchased on arrival.

Chatsworth: Christmas Market

The Christmas market at Chatsworth House will last for over
two weeks, featuring over 100 stalls, live music, outdoor bars and a vast range of heartwarming, festive
food. The Chatsworth shops will also remain open throughout the event and entry to the market is totally

Bakewell: Christmas Market

Taking place in the centre of the charming market town, home to The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop, our third
pick is truly a quintessential English Christmas Market. Around 100 stallholders will line the streets,
with live music performances, festive food and family activities throughout the weekend. Location: Town

Matlock: Victorian Christmas Market

With a whopping 200 stalls, the official Christmas light switch on and a firework display, Matlock’s
Victorian Christmas Market is a truly memorable event with something for everyone. The festive
extravaganza celebrates its 24th year this December and takes place close to Matlock’s other shops and
cafes for those wishing to explore the town. Location: Hall

Buxton: Christmas Fair

Set in the beautiful Pavilion Gardens, the Buxton
Christmas Fair offers stunning gifts, a brilliant atmosphere and even an opportunity to visit Santa in
his Grotto. Entry to the market,  which will be open between 10AM and 5PM on both days, will be
free of charge.
