The Peacock at Rowsley has a rich history, dating back to 1652 when our beautiful hotel was built for the Steward of Haddon Hall. Haddon Hall, known to be one of the finest medieval manor houses in Britain, is just a few miles down the road and there is much to enjoy in its beautiful medieval surroundings this autumn.
If you enjoy creative activities, Haddon Hall is hosting a lino printing day on 7th October. Create your own lino print to use for homemade greeting cards – a unique opportunity to make a lovely print for your Christmas cards!
Why not also combine a weekend stay at The Peacock with a visit to the Artisan Market? Local artisans will be showcasing their wares on the 14th-15th November, and you will be able to peruse fine arts, ceramics, books, foods and drinks. You can then put your feet up at The Peacock over dinner.
Haddon Hall will be hosting several Christmas events in November and December, rich in tradition and history.
If you would like to learn how to make Christmas decorations, Haddon Hall will be hosting a one day course with their talented Gift Shop Manager, Julie, on 25 November. You will be able to learn how to make a Christmas wreath or table decorations for your Christmas Day feast.
If you have ever wondered what Christmas preparations were like in Tudor times, Haddon Hall will be hosting the Tudor Group on the 5th and 6th December, where there will be dancing, music and fun filling the halls.
