The Peacock at Rowsley recently teamed up with John Hattersley Wines to serve up an exquisite evening of food and wine in The Peacock restaurant. Guests were treated to 7 courses of a delicious game tasting menu accompanied by 7 different wines selected and introduced by John Hattersley himself. The wine selection ranged from a Spanish aperitif from one of the most exceptional sherry houses in Spain, to a classic Sauternes from France that balanced modernity and elegance to accompany the sumptuous chocolate dessert. The venison tartare was served with a rich and fruity Italian Barbera wine from one of the largest and most progressive co-operatives in Italy, and the rich and exotic Pinot Gris from one of Alsace’s top wineries was the perfect partner for the apple, salted caramel and blackberries served with cinnamon ice cream and granola. If you weren’t able to join us never fear – we just might repeat the success in the New Year, so keep an eye on our upcoming events!
