Rave Reviews For The Peacock

Rave Reviews For The Peacock

We are always delighted when our guests enjoy their stay at our boutique hotel, especially when they leave us wonderful reviews! Here is what you can look forward to at The Peacock at Rowsley in the words of one happy guest. “…after 10 minutes among the creaky but covetable armoire and armchairs, we’re ready for a post-M1 stroll and a half of something local in a real, old-fashioned country pub.” The Peacock is located in the beautiful Peak District National Park, which has much to offer visitors. You can begin your stay with a bit of exploring and a visit to one of the Peak District’s many excellent pubs? Our covetable armchairs will be waiting for you upon your return, unless you choose to stay and relax with a book and a drink, of course. Lamp Rump  “We’d have been satisfied with superior gastropub-type fare, but this is accomplished cooking … if the Derbyshire demographic includes a sub-genre of foodie fly-fishermen, this place must make them very, very happy.” At The Peacock you can enjoy a fine dining menu in our restaurant or opt for our bar menu in more relaxed surroundings. We also offer a well-stocked bar and use local, seasonal produce from the Peak District whenever possible. Haddon Hall “It is, ahem, raining a bit, but we Britishly chat amongst ourselves as we struggle up a very steep slope into the wind, along the gritstone cliff … the rest of the walk is a little kinder, giving us a bit more of a chance to hold hands…” The Peak District offers a variety of activities, including multiple hiking trips waiting to be tackled. Our staff are always happy to help you plan your outdoor endeavours, or you could take a look at the Visit Peak District blog for inspiration. The Peacock also has access to private rivers for fly fishing, and is just a few miles from Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House for historical outings. If you visit us between now and the end of October, be sure to visit the Beyond Limits sculpture exhibition at Chatsworth House. Guests at The Peacock receive a 50% discount on Chatsworth admission prices. A doubel bed “…staying for another night at this boutique stately home is even more a treat than the first. And, bliss: the only steep slope we’ve got to climb before bed is the stairs.” After a day of exploring in Derbyshire you are welcome to wind down with a relaxed evening in at The Peacock. Eat, drink and be merry – and plan your next stay! Take a look at the Autumn calendar of events for some tempting reasons to return.
