As the trout season nears its end, it is still possible to enjoy the rivers surrounding The Peacock at Rowsley from October and into the New Year. Grayling, among the most beautiful and respected freshwater fish, can be caught here in the Peak District during the autumn and winter months.

Grayling Fishing Package

From October we have a special package for our fishermen giving you exclusive access to the River Wye and Derwent for the grayling season.  From 8 October to 2 January we will not be selling day tickets. Access will be soley for members of the Peacock Fly Fishing Club and hotel residents.

Our Grayling Fishing Package includes dinner, bed and breakfast and as much fishing as a day can hold at £189 (single room) or £315 (twin & double) per night.

Tackle Tips

“People often think there is some special tackle required for grayling fishing. But, whatever you use for river trouting will be right for grayling. Rods from 8 to 9′ for number 4 or 5 weight lines are usually ideal, with whatever action suits you best.”
