Dear Guests

We are so delighted that our lovely hotel is once again buzzing with chat and laughter, and it is wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves; getting away, and re-connecting with friends and family. It is our great pleasure. We are also delighted that from 19th July parties of greater than six will once again be able to dine together. 

But we are not fully out of the woods yet. One unforeseen circumstance is a chronic shortage of staff throughout the UK, post furlough and Brexit, which has especially affected the hospitality industry. This has forced us to reduce our service. The second is the rather vague new Covid advice which now puts the onus on us as service providers, and you as individuals to decide what to do to keep us all safe. 

Regarding service we are now very happy to be able to open for lunch again in a limited capacity. From 21st July we will be offering a full and delicious lunch service from Wednesday to Saturday until the end of August. We will be closed for dinner on Sundays and Mondays. We will be keeping this under constant review and restaurant bookings can be made in the normal ways either online or by telephone or email. 

With Covid, our overriding priority is the safety and comfort of our guests and staff so we have decided to keep, for the time being, most of the sensible precautions that have been in place throughout the pandemic. We ask for your understanding and forbearance during these continued unusual circumstances. 

Pre booking: We ask you to please make a reservation before entering the hotel, even from your car if you turn up last minute without a reservation. This helps with track and trace as well as social distancing within the building. 
Check in from 4pm: We will maintain a highly vigilant and thorough cleaning regime with all areas of the hotel deep cleaned on a regular basis. We therefore ask you to please not check in before 4pm which allows time for our very excellent housekeeping team to thoroughly clean your room. Regrettably we will not yet be offering an evening turn down service. 
Temperature checks and hand sanitising on arrival: This takes just a few seconds and is an important screen. Hand sanitisers are also available throughout the building for your convenience. 
Track and trace: We will not be asking you to check in to the NHS app but will require contact details from one person for each room or table booking.
Face coverings: We think this is still important so all of our staff will wear face coverings, and we ask our guests to do so when moving about the communal parts of the building.  
Social distancing: Close contact with people you don't know still poses a risk so we ask you to please respect other guest's personal space. We will also keep the tables in the restaurant spaced two meters apart.
