From this Friday, Bakewell will become a haven for good food and baking lovers, with the Bakewell Baking Festival taking place from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 August. Held at the Bakewell Showground, the festival will include a wide range of events, including baking masterclasses, bread making, cup cake decorating, and a baking and vintage marketplace full of kitchenalia, fine china tea sets, cake-stands, vintage clothing and accessories. The festival will also feature plenty of well known faces from the baking world, including Tom Herbert, Howard Middleton, Iain Watters and Edd Kimber.
Champagne Afternoon Tea
In collaboration with the Bakewell Baking Festival and National Afternoon Tea Week, Haddon Hall will be hosting a Champagne afternoon tea on Saturday 15 August. The traditional afternoon tea will be served in the surroundings of Haddon’s beautiful Elizabethan terraced gardens and will be followed by a food-related tour of the hall, including the Tudor kitchens. Booking is essential for this ever popular event and tickets can be purchased directly from the Haddon Hall website here.
Baking at The Peacock
Baking also lies at the heart of The Peacock at Rowsley where our chefs produce our famous treacle bread in The Peacock ovens. They even freshly churn the butter to go with it. A limited number of rooms are still available at The Peacock during August for those wishing to make the most of this baking spectacular. We look forward to seeing you. > Bakewell Baking Festival > Haddon Hall Champagne Afternoon Tea > rooms at The Peacock > dine at The Peacock
