Fly fishing at the Peacock at Rowsley

The Peacock is the hub for the Haddon Estate fisheries which offers some of the finest and most extensive dry fly fishing for wild trout in the country. Fishermen come from all over the world , and the Derbyshire Wye is famous for being the only river in the United Kingdom with wild rainbow trout as well as wild brown trout.

Day tickets are available from reception or online, so why not combine a relaxing stay with a spot of fishing? And for more regular fishermen, our Peacock Fly Fishing Club membership offers exceptional fishing opportunities on four rivers.

River Wye

Available to day ticket holders and members of the Peacock Fly Fishing Club.

The only river in the country with wild rainbow trout; with over seven miles of some of the best dry fly fishing in the UK. The river is not stocked at all, providing challenging fishing for wild brown and rainbow trout as well as for grayling. We operate a strict “catch and release” policy, with fish being released unharmed.

Lathkill square

Lathkill and Bradford

The Middle and Lower Lathkill and the Bradford are beautiful small and delicate limestone spring fed rivers.

We only permit a very few rods on these rivers at any one time, and outside the mayfly season, but they are well worth exploring!
