Fine dining in the Peak District

Gastronomy sits at the core of our hotel. Our restaurant team have been the proud bearers of three AA rosettes – the top ten percent in the country – for a number of years.

We offer both an indulgent, fine dining menu and a more relaxed bar menu to suit most tastes or moods. The key behind each dish served at The Peacock is seasonal, quality ingredients – something Head Chef Dan Smith is passionate about. Trained by Tom Aiken, Dan combines skill and creativity to merit the awards we have achieved.

Wherever possible, we serve truly local ingredients, including organically-reared beef and lamb from the Haddon Estate. We also source beef, lamb and pork from E. W. Coates in Two Dales and Hancock’s in Stoney Middleton in Derbyshire.

Lunch is served daily from 12pm until 2pm (the Sunday lunch menu is only available on Sundays).

Dinner in the bar is served Mon to Fri from 6:30pm until 9pm.

The a la carte dinner menu is served in our fine dining restaurant Mon to Sat from 7pm until 9pm.

Our tasting menu is available on Fri and Sat evenings, with special tasting menus for dietary requirements available when pre-booked.

Restaurant & Bar

Our fine dining restaurant serves our a la carte menu Monday to Saturday from 7pm until 9pm.

Our charming bar serves lunch Monday to Saturday, with dinner served Monday to Friday from 6:30pm until 9pm.

On Sundays guests are invited to enjoy Sunday lunch and dinner in the bar or restaurant.

Private Dining

Our Wye and Derwent rooms are available for business entertaining or private parties from 4 to 20 guests. Relax in the privacy of your own dining room with care and attention from our team.

Valentine’s Day

Say “I love you” with a romantic meal in the Peak District this Valentine’s Day. Indulge in a tasting menu dinner, created exclusively for Valentine’s, with fine wines included as an optional extra.

Only the tasting menu will be available on Valentine’s Day,  but it will be offered alongside the A La Carte menu on the 9th and 10th, 16th and 17th February.

Available 9th, 10th, 14th, 16th and 17th February only. Reservations can only be made for the restaurant on February 9th, 10th and 14th, with bar food also unavailable in the evening.
